When you think about your life, would you say that you a living it or experiencing it? Do you get through your days or do you soak them up? With our health coaching program, it’s about more than what you put on your plate. Nutrition is not just about what you eat, but what you take in as nourishment from all parts of your life such as your job and your relationships. The nutrition we get from food AND life is what either brings us in to balance or takes us out of balance.

This program will help bring balance to your life and your plate as you are awakened to the possibility of what your life will be like when you are eating and living well. Are you ready to feel great? If so, read on…

I offer 3 and 6 month program options. These programs include bi-weekly meetings, recipes, guidance and support as well as an individual program tailored to fit your needs.

Throughout the program we will move organically through the process together working toward your personal goals.

Some concepts that we will explore during your program are:

Bio-individuality means that we all have different needs when it comes to our food and lifestyle. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why popular diets aren’t a one size fits all. Through this program, you will be supported as you make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, and preferences.

Primary Food™

Primary foods aren’t about what you put on your plate, but they are about what is – or is not -nurishing your mind and body. We will look at things that may be affecting your overall health such as stress, relationships, work and environment. This holistic approach will guarantee a higher level of success through this program.

Integrative Nutrition™ Plate

The Integrative Nutrition Plate recognizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It also emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size.

This plate also highlights factors in our life that can have a big impact in our wellness such as; relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. Through this program we will look at the healthiest foods, how to read labels correctly, how to understand if produce is organic and most importantly, how to eat healthy in an affordable and sustainable way.

Angie Cherry, Graduate of Institute of Integrative Nutrition

As a child, I had chronic infections. I suffered from ear infections, bronchitis and repeated bouts of strep throat. I was put on multiple rounds of antibiotics and never really felt well.

My life was very unsettled as a young adult and I made some very bad decisions, especially when I started smoking on top of my asthma and allergies. Seriously, what was I thinking?

In 2007, I was smoking a cigarette on my front porch when something happened. I realized, like looking at myself from the outside in, that I had become someone I never imagined I would be. From the outside, I was successful, made good money, had a nice house and a nice car. My family included my husband, our three beautiful boys and even a cute little dog. But, on the inside, I was unhealthy, I had a poor diet and I was extremely depressed.

That day something changed in me and I think it had been coming for a while. I realized it was time for me to stop being a victim to life and start creating it.

The first thing I did was quit my job and while we had to make sacrifices because of this choice, they have all been worth it. I lost all of my income but I have been so much richer ever since.

In the last ten years, I have quit smoking, gotten off five medications for asthma and allergies, worked through IBS and worked through my depression. I have dealt with hormone imbalance that led to surgery, which led to more hormone imbalance. I have dealt with adrenal fatigue and vitamin D deficiency and recently went through the diagnosis of thyroid cancer which lead to a thyroidectomy. Throughout this process I found out that I have Hashimoto’s disease and so my recent studies have been full of autoimmune dysfunction and using foods and lifestyle to heal the body. I feel like I have been in a constant struggle to find balance in my body and my life.

I have found most of my healing through whole foods, diet changes, lifestyle shifts and a dedicated yoga and exercise practice. However, the most powerful thing I have ever done is own my life. By taking responsibility for all that I was and am creating, I have created deep and lasting change.

I became a graduate of IIN because I knew from my own experience, that nutrition isn’t just about what you eat. I saw the benefits of a program that included the idea of lifestyle as well as nutrition to create a more balanced life.

Through my own experience and my training, I hope to inspire and guide others to better health, increased wellness and a passionate, kick-ass life.
